Style Icon: Babe Paley

Barbara "Babe" Paley was one of New York's biggest socialites in the 40's.50's and 60's and one of Truman Capote's Swans.

When asked about Babe, Capote had this to say:

"Babe Paley had only one fault, She was perfect. Otherwise, she was perfect."

She was named to the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame in 1958 and it is pretty easy to see why. Weather she was lunching at La Cote Basque or at her home in Jamaica, Babe was always dressed right for the occasion.

Her style and good taste carried over to her three fabulous homes, an apartment on Fifth Avenue in NYC, Kiluna, a farm on Long Island and a villa in Jamaica.

She was well know for her entertaining, much of which was in support of her husband, Bill Paley, who built the TV network that is now known as CBS.
