Milan Fashion Week Street Style

I don't know what it is about Milan but I am finding the street style at the Spring 2015 shows to be head and shoulders above what I saw in New York and London. And there were some damn good outfits in New York and London! We'll see how the streets look in Paris, but Milan is tops for now.

These are my street style faves:

September Wish List

September Wish List

Pink Dress // I'll Drink to That // Skirt // Pumps // Jeans
Boots // Seriously Delish // Blush // Earrings // Dipbrow Pomade

I cannot believe that it's officially fall! Between work and social obligations this his month has been flying by. With the weather in the 60's most days, I've switched over into full fall fashion mode, hence the need for the boots and dark green skirt. J. Crew Factory has a ton of "mini" skirts that are long enough to be work-appropriate when paired with tights and a blazer.

I retired my one pair of black skinny jeans last spring and it's definitely time for a replacement. The jeans paired with a silk tank, black blazer and these lovely leopard print pumps is a good go-to outfit for a casual night out.

I've been seeing the double-earring trend everywhere and I've been thinking about getting a pair for myself. I saw this pearl pair from Bauble Bar featured on Summer Wind, a fashion blog I follow, and I think they're just what I'm looking for.

Nars blush in Orgasm has been a makeup staple of mine for years, in both powder and cream form, but this liquid-like blush from Perricone MD has me intrigued. I'll make sure to post a review once I've given it a try.

If you haven't noticed from my past wish lists, I'm a book addict with an endless reading list. I saw Betty Halbreich in Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf's and became an instant fan. When I found out she was writing a memoir it immediately went on the top of my to-read list.

Inspiring Words on Fashion

I'm busy, I'm tired, I don't care. That's how I've been feeling when it comes to dressing for work and, to tell you the truth, it's starting to piss me off a little. Work has been crazy busy lately and I've been putting fashion on the back burner. I know what you're thinking, "You should put things like dressing cute for work on the back burner. Work trumps fashion." But does it?

You know the expression "clean house, clean mind?" For me it's "good look, good feeling." When I'm walking around and I know I don't look put together I feel completely off for some reason. It's almost like I'm out of control. When I'm crazy busy at work and need to bring my A-game, the last thing I want to feel is out of control.

Monday is a new week and as Candy Pratts Price once said, "It's time to get back on those heels." I'm taking today to get inspired, open my closet and prep my outfits for the next five days. By choosing my outfits ahead of time I can get up, get dressed and get to work knowing that I feel good about how I look.

Before I open the closet and get things rolling, I think a few inspirational words are in order...

Top Looks from London Fashion Week

I almost felt like New York Fashion Week went on for a little too long and with London Fashion Week I felt the exact opposite. I blinked and they were over. There were plenty of great shows packed into a short amount of time, including Tom Ford's much anticipated return to the regular runway scene. These are my top looks from London:

NYFW Spring 2015 Top Looks: Part Six

New York Fashion Week finished up several days back and I want to apologize for the delay in publishing my final top looks from the New York shows. Work deadlines and an inconvenient weekend-long migraine kept me away from my blogger duties for far too long. As the old saying goes, better late than  never...these are my top looks.

New York Fashion Week Street Style

We're heading into the last leg of New York Fashion Week and it's time to recap one of the best bi-products of fashion shows, and that's street style. The weather has been delightful in New York, which always bodes well for the fashion pack. Nothing puts a damper on a good outfit more than rain, am I right?

The funny thing about the New York spring shows is that they fall between seasons, so you never know what you're going to see on the streets. In an ideal world, the weather will be cool enough for the ladies to break out looks seen at the Fall 2014 shows.

These are my top street style looks so far:

NYFW Spring 2015 Top Looks: Part Five

The shows from yesterday and today gave me a few surprises from designers not even on my radar and lots of favorites from my go-to fashion loves. Per usual, I loved what I saw from Carolina Herrera, Rosie Assoulin, Zac Posen and Diane von Furstenberg.

I found out just this evening that Porsche has a fashion line! The car company? Why? When? Who? It turns out that I was most pleasantly surprised by Juergen Gessler collection. Porsche Design is just as sleek and stylish as it's cousin, the Porsche car. I picked a few of my favorite looks, but head over to Style.com and view the entire collection.

I also discovered Barbara Tfank today, and damn am I glad I did. Her designs are classic and elegant, and made with the most beautiful fabric. She designs clothes that take women back to a time when dressing well really meant something, which I feel is something so many women are missing today. Bravo Barbara!

These are my top looks from the past two days:

NYFW Spring 2015 Top Looks: Part Four

There were some fantastic shows yesterday but Christian Siriano and Altuzarra were out ahead of the rest of the fashion pack. Christian Siriano's collection was classy lady with a hint of retro glamour and I absolutely loved it. Joseph Altuzarra designed a collection that was both demure and sexy and is sure to give women a whole new appreciation for gingham and stripes.

These are my top looks from yesterday's shows:

Prabul Gurung

Jill Stuart

NYFW Spring 2015 Top Looks: Part Three

The shows are starting to ramp-up as we head into the second half of New York Fashion Week.  Per usual, classic pastel pinks, blues and cream are out in full force but there has also been a nice mix of rich yellows, oranges and greens along with my perennial favorite, which is black. These are my top looks from Friday's shows.

NYFW Spring 2015 Top Looks: Part Two

Day three already?! Fashion Week has been flying for me, but maybe that's just because I've been crazy busy at work this week. The Spring 2015 shows have been a welcome distraction after a long day.

Before I get to my top looks, I want to take a moment to discuss the revamp of everyone's favorite fashion week hub, Style.com. Yesterday they revealed their new website and, I must say, it's such an upgrade to their previous one. The Fashion Shows section is much better organized than it was previously, with various ways/options to organize all off the reviews and photos, which is key when you're trying to ensure you don't miss anything. If you haven't visited Style.com before, I highly recommend it, particularly for the Fashion Week coverage.

OK, on to my Day Three top picks:

Get the Look: Casual Cozy for Fall

As we transition into cooler weather, a cozy knit sweater is the perfect option when it's not quite cold enough for a jacket. This look, from the lovely Kat Tanita, is from last January but it's a great outfit option for a fall weekend.

If you haven't heard about Kat's blog, With Love From Kat, I highly recommend it. It's a regular read of mine and I so enjoy her outfit posts.
