Recipe Ideas for a Kentucky Derby Party

The nation's biggest horse race, the Kentucky Derby, is this Saturday. I don't know a thing about horse races but I'm all for a cocktail party that calls for stylish hats and seersucker, so bring on the mint julep's!

After some extensive research on Pinterest and every southern magazine currently in print, I've found a fun round up of recipes that are sure to be crowd pleasers at your derby-watching party. Enjoy!

My Favorite Fashion Neutral: Gold!

When it comes to neutral accessories there is plenty out there beyond beige. Silver, navy and even leopard print (thank you Jenna Lyons) are great neutrals, and I love them all but nothing can compare to gold. I've had a long-tern love affair with gold because it helps brighten my pale skin.

I have a couple of pieces of gold clothing but where I really go all out gold is my accessories. They go with everything and I get so much milage out of my gold jewelry, shoes and bags.

Check out my favorite gold accessory options for spring:

Save or Splurge: Spring Shoe Guide

Save or Splurge: Spring Shoes

Here in New England, we're slowly getting to that point where we can put away the boots and pull out the colorful pumps and sandals. In celebration of this great time of year, I've put together a guide of the top shoe trends for spring 2015. I cannot wait to get my hands on a pair of floral pumps and comfy gladiator sandals.

What's your favorite spring 2015 shoe trend?

Work and Play: Black & White Stripes

When it comes to fashion, we all need clothes that can do double duty. Most of us don't have the space (or the money!) to have completely separate wardrobes for both work and play, so the smart move is to look for clothes that work for a variety of settings when mixed and matched with other clothes and accessories.

I love this black and white striped skirt from A.L.C. It's perfect for spring and when paired with a blazer and classic pumps it's a fashionable but appropriate outfit for work.If I'm heading out after work or have weekend plans, a quick top and accessory change is all that's required to take me from day to night.

Easter Breakfast Recipe Ideas

A big breakfast on Easter Sunday is a tradition in my family, as it gives us some time to catch up and enjoying a relaxing meal (most of us are still in our PJ's) before we all head to my grandmother's for a late afternoon lunch with extended family.

These are some of my favorite breakfast recipe ideas for large Easter Sunday:
