Beauty Review: Tend Skin Liquid

My best friend Jamie turned me on to this product late last year after I complained about post-shave irritation. When used after shaving Tend Skin Liquid helps reduce bumps, redness and irritation and also helps reduce ingrown hairs.

I can't say enough good things about this product. I found it to be much more effective than other post-shave balms or solutions. I shave almost every day and I apply this after I get out of the shower to my underarm and bikini area and it helps calm my skin and prevents any bumps from popping up.

I will admit that it can sting a little when applied right after shaving but I promise it's worth it. It has alcohol in it so it can also be a little drying, especially in the winter. I just lay on my regular body moisturizer after and I'm good to go.

At $41 dollars for a 16 oz. bottle, it's not cheap but it's not overly expensive either, especially given the size of the bottle. I use a cotton ball to apply it, so it lasts a decent amount of time.

I purchase mine from Drugstore.com but it's also available on Amazon.

Best Dressed at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party

When it comes to red carpet fashion, the Vanity Fair after party is just as good, if not better than the award show itself. There were some great outfits at the Vanity Fair party but there was also a whole lot of skin/no underwear happening. I won't include those scandalous dresses as I'm sure you've already seen them on US Weekly or The Daily Mail.

These are my best dressed picks for the Vanity Fair party:

Diane Kruger in Donna Karan
(Favorite look of the night period)

 Natalie Portman in Dior
Quite a refreshing look after all the "no underwear" dresses)

Top Picks from the Oscars Red Carpet

Despite the rain there was no shortage of glamour on the Academy Awards red carpet last night. There were some incredible dresses, but what surprised me was the fact that many of my favorite looks were worn by non-nominees.

My top three choices for best dressed were Jenna Dewan-Tatum in Zuhair Murad, Karolina Kurkova in Marchesa and Jennifer Lopez in Elie Saab. Keep scrolling for the rest of my top picks.

NYFW Fall 2015: Part Four

The fashion pack will head across the pond for London Fashion Week in just a few days but there are still plenty of great shows happening in New York. My overall favorite shows featured here are Pamella Roland (love the more relaxed feel of this collection) and Alice + Olivia (when it comes to detail and embroidery, this show has been my favorite so far).

These are my favorite looks from the Sunday and Monday shows:

Dreaming of a Tropical Getaway

Nearly 100 inches of snow has fallen in Boston in the past three weeks and I've just about reached my limit when it comes to shoveling and navigating the slushy city streets. I would give almost anything to flee the city and head for a more tropical climate. Barbados, Puerto Rico, Bermuda...I don't care where as long as it's 80 degrees and sunny.

My friends and family will tell you that I'm terrible about taking time off to relax and recharge, and I'm kicking myself right now for not thinking ahead and planning a winter trip back in the fall. Note to self: Mark you calendar in September to start planning that February vacation.

If I did have the pleasure of jetting out of town for a few warm and sunny days, this is what would be on my packing list. Hey, a girl can dream, right?

NYFW Spring 2015: Part Three

We're only halfway through New York Fashion Week and I think I've found my favorite show. Jason Wu's collection, shown on Friday at Spring Studios, was absolutely fantastic. I found the looks to be timeless and elegant without the "ladies who lunch" connotation.

There are some classic, wardrobe-building pieces including beautifully cut coats, slim, high-waisted pants and timeless fur coats and vests. Designer clothes like Wu's aren't inexpensive by any means, but you will most certainly get your money's worth with this collection.

Keep scrolling for my favorite looks from Wu and the rest of the Friday/Saturday shows.

NYFW Fall 2015: Part Two

Happy Sunday! We're once again snowed in here in Boston. Luckily I have NYFW to keep me occupied while I wait for the blizzard to pass. These are my top picks from the Wednesday and Thursday shows.

NYFW Fall 2015: Part One

New York Fashion Week has officially arrived! It's been cold and snowy here in the northeast but that won't stop the fashion pack. Cold weather is no match for a fierce fashion editor braving the elements in over-the-knee boots and a chic fur coat.

The Fall 2015 shows start today, but over the last several days some of the designers released their collections via a look book. From what I've seen so far, the beautiful, well-tailored coat is one of the first Fall 2015 trends to emerge.

These are my top picks from the collections so far:

Top Picks from the BAFTA Red Carpet

We had a double red carpet last night with the Grammys and the BAFTA awards. I found most of the Grammy awards red carpet looks to me be more like silly costumes than beautiful outfits, so I decided to keep my focus on the BAFTA awards red carpet.

These are my top looks from Sunday evening, with Lea Seydoux and Monica Bellucci as the best dressed ladies overall.

Spring 2015 Couture: Part Three

The Spring 2015 Couture shows wrapped up on Thursday in Paris with Zuhair Murad closing things out, and what an ending it was! Talk about saving the best for last. There were so many beautiful dresses in this collection and, as usual, the detail and craftsmanship was superb. In the weeks and months to come, so many of these dresses are going to be seen on the red carpet around the globe.

These are my top picks from the final couture shows:
