November Wish List

Hello November! I can't believe we're just a few weeks away from Thanksgiving. My favorite season is going way too fast. I wonder if that's why my November wish list has a holiday feel to it? Keep scrolling to see what I mean.

With holiday party season around the corner, there will be late nights and early mornings, hence the need for the eye gels and recovery serum. Another holiday beauty must have is hairspray. I like a product that holds my style but without the crunchiness that occurs with most hairspray. We'll see if this Shu Uemura hairspray is worth the hefty price.

Speaking of holiday season, I have found some great jewelry items to incorporate into my party outfit rotation. Big earrings is an easy way to go from casual to dressy without much effort. I don't generally wear brooches but I love this one from BaubleBar. Maybe I can wear it in my hair. I also love this embellished top from Needle & Thread. You can pair it with jeans or black pants/skirt for a casual but festive holiday party look.

I am not ready to break out my holiday decorations (never before Thanksgiving people) but I am chomping at the bit to start lighting my favorite holiday candle. The smell of this Frasier Fir candle is as close to a real Christmas tree as you can get.

As the weather starts to really cool down, my go-to work outfit is boots, tights and dresses. I love this suede boot from Sam Edelman and midi dress from Topshop. If I'm not in and dress, I am bundled up in a cozy sweater. This style from Tory Burch is the perfect length for me.

I've got a dozen pairs of black shoes but no red ones. I need to right this wrong immediately with these tassel pumps from Topshop. And since the holiday season is approaching, how about something green too. Love this forest green tote from Tory Burch.

What's on your wish list this month?

In Love With...Oxblood

Hello again! If you hadn't noticed, I took a bit of a blogger break this month. Lately, I've been feeling a bit uninspired and creating posts seemed more like a chore than a pleasure. After a few week hiatus and some soul searching, I decided to come back to blogging, even if it's only just a few times per week.

I have been obsessed with fashion since I was a young girl and Fashionably Chic is my creative outlet for that love, hence my desire to get back to blogging regularly.

New start, new post? Yes! In Love With... will hopefully become a regular posting here on FC where I can share whatever my current obsession is that week, be it fashion, beauty or lifestyle related.

This week it's all about the blood, oxblood that is. Every few years, the oxblood shade (burgundy really) is the must-have color that season, but let's be honest, does this deep red really ever go out of style? Nope!

It's the perfect shade for the fall and winter and complements beautifully the various shades of black, grey and camel that make up my cold weather wardrobe.

These are my favorite oxblood items to add to my closet and vanity drawers.

September Wish List

September Wish List

Jeans // White Coat // Faux Leather Skirt // Acne Clear Dots
Origins Mask // Booties // Green Tank // Watch // Earrings
Necklace // Blazer // A Paris Apartment // Root Boost

September is finally here and it's time to break out the fall fashion! OK, that's not totally true, it's going to be close to 80 degrees in Boston this week, not exactly crisp, autumn weather. But I'm holding out hope for some cooler temperatures next week, hence the fall fashion included in my September wish list.

I've got plenty of skinny jeans and a few pairs of flares (is anyone else excited that the flared jean is back?) but there are no boyfriend jeans to speak of in my closet. This pair from Rag & Bone is on the slimmer side, which is exactly what I'm looking for.

Fall 2015 Boot Guide: Over the Knee

We've taken stock of the best fall booties and tall boots and now it's time to take a look at my current favorite boot style, the over the knee.

Over the knee boots have come a long way since Julia Roberts strutted down the streets of Beverly Hills in Pretty Woman and the once scandalous style is now an everyday classic.

These are my top picks for over the knee styles this fall season:

First Row: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4
Second Row: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4

There are so many amazing boots out this season and I wanted to do a roundup of my favorite pairs. A comprehensive boot guide can not be contained in just one post, so I broke things out into three categories. First up: booties!

August Wish List

There are still four weeks of summer left but I am officially in fall fashion mode! I'm still happily wearing my sundresses and Jack Rogers sandals but the only shopping I plan to do in August is for the upcoming fall season.

It wouldn't be fall without a pair of riding boots. I love this classic brown pair from Tory Burch because I can count on wearing these for many seasons to come. I also love a great flat shoe to wear two and from the office and these two suede pairs in pretty jewel tones are perfect for the changing season.

I have a couple of great wool coats reserved for the winter but I am short on fall coats after a big closet clean out in the spring. This windowpane check one from Tory Burch would make a great addition to my closet.

I have a red silk top that I always get such nice comments on, so when I saw this sweater in the shame shade, I immediately added it to my wish list. The mix of silk and cashmere makes for a light sweater that is perfect for early fall. Another early fall favorite is this dress from Peruvian Connection that I can pair with tights when the weather gets cooler.

I have a go-to pair of skinny black pants that I wear with everything and they are starting to look a little worn. These similar pants from Theory would be a good replacement.

During the warmer months, I usually go lighter on the makeup but I am definitely bring back the red lip for fall. I am crazy for the old school lipstick collection from Bésame Cosmetics, and I'm hoping this shade of red is the one for me. An old school lipstick shade deserves an old school accessory to match. This black and white bag with a retro feel from Kate Spade is absolutely fabulous.

Last, but certainly not the least, are these wish list dream earring from David Yurman. I love his cable bracelets but I think I'll get much more use out of these classic earrings.

What's on your fall fashion wish list?
