Clean Out Your Closet for a Cause with Simon Malls and Fashion Project

If you love giving back as much as you love fashion, this clothing drive might be for you.

Select Simon malls are teaming up with Fashion Project to offer fashion lovers everywhere the opportunity to donate their gently worn designer clothing to benefit charitable causes. Fashion Project is an online clothing donation service committed to using fashion as a force for good.

The best part about this clothing drive is that you can choose which charity you would like to support. Upon receipt of your donation bag at the Fashion Project headquarters, Fashion Project will sort and sell the items, donating 55% of the proceeds to the donor’s charity of choice. Pretty great, right?

Between October 27, 2014 and November 10, 2014, you can pick up a donation bag at the Guest Services counter at participating Simon malls or request one online at fashionproject.com/simon. Boston readers, you can pick up donation bags at Copley Place. Once you fill up your bag, just drop it off at your nearest U.S. Post Office.

Fashion Project accepts women’s clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories from brands such as Free People, Tory Burch and Prada. A complete list of qualifying brands is listed on Fashion Project’s ‘Qualifying Brands List’ (fashionproject.com/brands). A qualifying item must be in near new or great condition.

And it gets better! For every five qualifying items, the donor will earn a $20 Simon Gift card. There is no limit to the gift card quantity so if you donate 10 qualifying items you’ll earn $40 and so on.
