The Blowouts
We had the entire salon to ourselves and enjoyed a relaxing hair wash and scalp massage before settling in for a blow dry. If you're really into a good scalp massage, make sure to request the floater add-on, an extra 10 minute scalp massage that you can tack on.
They have a great little booklet of blow out styles to choose from and I decided to go with the Cosmo-Tai, a mix of lots of volume and waves, which is perfect for me. I may be a New England girl, but I love Texas-sized volume. Luckily, my talented stylist, Esmella, was happy to oblige.
Why can't my hair look this good every day?
The Shop
The stylists use some great tools and products for the blowouts and they sell everything that you need to get a great blow dry at home. One of the staff members showed me some of the products available while I waited to get my hair done, and even test them out on herself so that I could see the result.
I have never been a dry shampoo girl because I feel like the white powder products won't jive with my dark brown hair. One of the products that I was introduced to was Detox, a dry shampoo product that comes in both white and brown to suit all hair colors. I love that it comes in a spray can because applying it is so much easier that way. I also picked up their Southern Belle volumizing mousse so I could try and recreate my big hair at home.
The Snacks
The lovely people at Seasons 52 and Pretzel Crisps provided us with tons of great snacks and beverages while we mingled and waited to get our hair done. There were some fantastic flat bread pizza's and mini desserts from Seasons 52 and the rep from Pretzel Crisps whipped up some really fun sweet and savory dip options for us to try.
Along with tons of pretzel flavors and dip options, the Pretzel Crisp rep sent us home with a bag of their newest flavor to try at home.
All and all I had an amazing time at the event and I will definitely be going back to Drybar to get my hair done in the future. I'm also looking forward to spending more time with my blogger peeps at future Boston Blogger events. It's always great to meet the writers behind the blogs that you read every day.
I want to give a big thank you to Kate and Alison at Boston Bloggers for organizing this great event for us.
*Full Disclosure: I received a complimentary blow dry from Drybar but all opinions are my own. I paid for the Drybar products that I discussed earlier.
