Easy Memorial Day Weekend Party Recipes

Most of us are either hosting or attending some kind of holiday weekend party, and if you haven't started thinking about what you are going serve or bring, it's getting down to the wire.

These are a few fun and easy party recipes that go down well with a crowd.

Everyone loves chips and dip and you can make it the day before to save time.

So cute and the size is perfect for a party.

To save time, I buy the Kirkland brand pre-cooked bacon from Costco. Just pop it in the microwave for a minute or two and your bacon is ready to dice.

Another item that can be made the night before and then put in the fridge to get cold overnight.

Because not everyone is into hot dogs or hamburgers. Make the mix and form the patties the morning of the party and store in the fridge until grilling time.

The best thing about crock pot recipes is you just throw everything in, set the timer, and forget about it. Just remember to start the cooking early so it will be done in time for the party.

Fruit Cup Ice Cream Cones

Just dice up your favorite summer fruits and use the mix to fill up large, store bought ice cream cones. Great presentation without a lot of effort. If you are really short on time, and don't mind spending the extra money, you can always run to the grocery store and buy the fruit already cut.

Very simple, with just 6 ingredients. It asks you to ground up graham crackers to make crumbs but you can always purchase a box from the baking isle. It saves time and you avoid covering your kitchen in crumbs.

For those of us who don't have the fire pits or bonfires going in the backyard!

Who doesn't love these? OK, so the recipe above can be made waaayyy ahead of time, and then you can just wrap them up in plastic wrap and freeze until it's time to serve them. With only a few days before the weekend, we don't have that kind of time, so here is my suggestion:

The day before the party, head to Whole Foods and pick up a couple of boxes of their party-sized chocolate chip cookies (they are the perfect size for this). Then grab some super premium vanilla ice cream (I like Haagen Dazs) and a bag of mini chocolate chips. Let the ice cream soften a bit and then sandwich one good sized scoop between two cookies. Then take a butter knife or spatula and smooth out the sides. Roll them in the mini chocolate chips, wrap in plastic wrap, and freeze overnight. No one needs to know you cheated a little bit.

Happy cooking and enjoy the weekend parties peeps!
